Oil cooler application range and main material

- May 27, 2019-

The oil cooler is mainly used for the cooling of engine lubricating oil or fuel oil for vehicles, construction machinery, ships, etc. The hot side is lubricating oil or fuel oil, and the cold side can be cooling water or air. During the running of the vehicle, the lubricating oil in each major lubrication system relies on the oil pump power, passing the heat side passage of the oil cooler to transfer the heat to the cold side of the oil cooler, while the cooling water or the cold air passes through the cold side passage of the oil cooler. The heat is taken away to achieve heat exchange between the hot and cold fluids, ensuring that the lubricant is at the proper operating temperature.

The main material of the oil cooler includes metal materials such as aluminum, copper, stainless steel, castings, etc. After welding or assembly, the hot side passage and the cold side passage are connected into a complete heat exchanger. According to the cooling medium, it can be divided into water-cooled oil and air-cooled oil. The product structure includes plate-fin, disc, box, tube, tube-fin, seal, shell-and-tube, assembly assembly. And other structure types.

The oil cooler has the characteristics of compact structure, high pressure and high temperature resistance, good corrosion resistance, high heat transfer efficiency and good reliability. Due to its diverse structure, it can be adapted to the needs of different working environments, especially When air-cooled, it can be installed remotely and is very flexible on the whole machine.
